On Thursday, 8 July, Coconut the husky was shot by a rancher who mistook her for a wolf after she escaped from her half-acre garden. Her Fi smart dog collar caught much of the bullet, saving her life. Coco’s dog mum Carly Kendall was able to track her from her phone using the collar’s GPS tracking, which continued functioning despite the shot, and rush her to the vet before she bled out.
